Dave relates: After the album being on the back burner for some time, I'm gradually getting all the tracks together now, and I think it's going to be a great album. There's still quite a bit of work to do, but this time round most of the tracks are exclusive, ie previously unreleased. Just to give you a flavour of what we have so far: * = exclusive, previously unreleased *1. Moya Brennan - Eirigh Suas a Stoirin (Trad. arr. M Brennan) A lovely song, originally recorded for radio by Moya and her band. *2. Joanne Hogg - Journey into the Morn (Hogg / Spear Polley) Reworking of this Iona song features Roine Stolte (from The Flower Kings) - guitar solo, Dave Bainbridge - keyboards, Heather Findlay (from Mostly Autumn) - vocal, Frank van Essen - drums. I'm still hoping to add a couple more special guest performances to the track, but it's sounding really great - quite different to the recorded version on the 'Morn' album. 3. Dave Beegle - Big Fish Rumba (from the album 'A Year Closer') Dave is simply an amazing guitarist, whether playing acoustic or electric guitar. Here he demonstrates his flamenco technique. *4. Debbie Bainbridge - Sacred Space (Debbie Bainbridge) Debbie - piano. A beautiful piece from Debbie, played on Chapel studio's nice Yamaha grand - studio time donated for free (thanks to Andy at Chapel). *5. Debbie Bainbridge - Piano piece - title TBC (Debbie Bainbridge) Debbie plays piano and alto recorder on this haunting piece, which also features some lovely low whistle from Troy Donockley and keyboards from Dave Bainbridge. *6. Troy Donockley & Dave Bainbridge - ' A Stor Mo Chroi ' which translates as 'Love of my Heart'. This traditional air is followed by some cracking dance tunes. Originally a solo uilleann pipes feature recorded live at 'The Studio' in Hartlepool, this version features some tasteful keyboard and bouzouki accompanyment from Dave added later in the studio. *7. Soulful Terrain - Lost For You (Jason Williams & Danny Daughtridge - re-harmonisation by Dave Bainbridge) Keyboards - Dave Bainbridge, Cello - Claire Fitch, Violin - Frank Van Essen - Percussion - Van Hunsberger. Dave has given this the Iona keyboard treatment . www.soulfulterrain.com 8. Invisible Opera Company of Tibet - Dreaming (Fabio Golfetti) Fabio Golfetti - glissando guitar & keyboards from the album 'Glissando Spirit' (Voiceprint VP147CD) www.invisivel.com.br Fabio plays guitar using an unusual right hand slide technique which results in some beautiful, haunting sounds. 9. Oliver Wakeman with Steve Howe - Standing Stones (from the album 'The 3 Ages of Magick' - RES144CD) PXM Publishing 2001 Son of the legendary keyboardist Rick, Oliver is a great musician in his own right. Guitar on this track is played by Steve Howe from Yes. *10. Richard John Thompson - Excuses to Fall A very nice song from a talented singer songwriter from the North-East of England. *11. Nick Fletcher - Silver Moon A lovely classical guitar piece from Nick, who's an exceptional guitarist. Recorded especially for this album at Dave's Open Sky Studio 12. Kenso - A Winter in Hokkaido (Bifuka) (from the album 'Chilling Heat - Live in Tokyo 2004' - PA2505) An exciting slice of Japanese art rock from these amazing musicians. *13. Keith Baker - Asilomar Sunrise (Keith Baker) written and recorded especially for this album, with Keith playing all the instruments, including some great dulcimer. *14. David Fitzgerald with Dave Bainbridge - O Euchari (Hildegard von Bingen - arranged Fitzgerald / Bainbridge) Originally recorded for David Fitzgerald¹s album 'God is Love' (ICCD79630), David's original soprano saxophone solo is here embellished by Dave Bainbridge's atmospheric keyboard accompanyment. 15. Eureka - Arabesque - from 'The Full Circle' A nice track from a German band which features the fine, lyrical guitar playing of Frank Bossert. 16. Deborah Martin - 'The Brilliance of Stars' (from the album "Deep Roots Hidden Water") A very evocative piece *17. Mostly Autumn - Winter is King (Findlay) Publishing & Copyright - MA Records 2005. Produced by Heather Findlay & Bryan Josh - an exclusive mix especially for this album by Ben Matthews of the band Thunder. Featuring a guest appearance on whistle from one Troy Donockley. *18. Mae McKenna & Dave Bainbridge - Uirnigh (original melody by Mae McKenna, lyric traditional from the Carmina Gadelica). Mae kindly wrote and recorded this beautiful melody (sung is Scottish Gaelic) especially for this album. Dave later added the atmospheric accompanyment. Other probable tracks include collaborations between Dave Bainbridge & US guitar virtuoso Phil Keaggy* and Nick Fletcher & Dave Bainbridge*, along with other tracks by Iona* (an exclusive remix by Dave of one of the bands well know tracks), our own Troy Donockley* and Indian influenced band Aradhna.
