VERY SPECIAL ALBUM RELEASE
Several months ago we received an email from film director Richard Hughes asking if the band would like to contribute a track to a fundraising album for Babs and Nigel Ratcliffe. Their eight year old daughter Angie is autistic and Babs and Nigel need to raise funds for their ongoing ‘Son-Rise’ program. Dave was immediately keen to help out as he and his wife Debbie had implimented an intensive ‘Son’Rise‘ program for their own autistic son Luca for a number of years and have seen amazing improvements in his communication skills and quality of life. Dave relates:

“Son-Rise is a brilliant, intensive, one to one, parent led program which doesn’t see special needs children as a problem, but as a joy. It is deeply respectful in its approach and has taught Debbie and I much about acceptance of people who are different and the value they have in society. We are so thankful to Son-Rise, their amazing teachers and support services who have made such a difference in Luca’s life. The Songs for Luca 1 and 2 albums helped to raise funds for us to have an amazing week on the Son-Rise intensive course in the USA as well as help us to sustain our program with Luca for many years, covering costs for Debbie to go on training courses, home visits from our Son-Rise teacher, regular phone and video consultations etc. So when we heard from Richard that he wanted to help out Babs, Nigel and Angie by putting together a fundraising album we were immediately keen to help out too.”

Richard: “When she was first diagnosed with autism, Angie's parents were told that she would never speak, but Angie now says 15 words in context. She never used to make eye contact with people, and was not toilet trained, but after several months on the programme she is now out of nappies, and makes eye contact 90 percent of the time. The Son-Rise Program has already made such a difference to the family, and I hope that together we can help them on the next step of the way.” Richard Hughes, Director, Edge 2 Edge Films

'Stealing Hope' has contributions from some great artists including Iain Archer, Athlete, Ben Okafor and many more. The IONA track is the previously unreleased ‘And the Angels Dance’ single remix.
